If you you have questions prior to scheduling you may schedule a brief 15 minute phone consultation, by emailing help@maternalcounselingservices.com. What Happens In the First Session?
Just like when you visit the doctor's office you have paperwork to complete. In your first counseling session we will go over this paperwork, and sign forms that will establish counseling with Maternal Counseling Services. This allows us to gain an understanding of your background, the issues you are facing, and what you are hoping to receive from counseling.
What I hope you get from the information above is that there is some general, standard, procedures that we have to complete but the focus of the first session is... "what brings you to counseling."
To ensure that the majority of the session's focus is on your goals for counseling, it is important to read over and complete the required forms for your first session.
What do you charge Counseling?
Rates:
$180 for initial evaluation

Shouldn't I be able to handle this myself
Asking for help is one of the greatest things you can do for yourself, your children and for your family. As you begin feeling well, it not only affects you, but those around you. Also, life is based on relationship. Think about it. When we are born, in order to grow, develop and even survive, we must be helped by another person. As we grow, develop and learn we depend less and less on this person.
Counseling helps you grow, develop and even when you are facing depression, it can help you survive. As you begin to grow, develop and learn about yourself and your situation in the context of hope, counseling sessions are reduced until you feel comfortable and confident about terminating services. It's not about doing it on your own, it's about being well.
